Bushfire relief announced for Victorians

To date, the Australian bushfires of this 2019-2020 period have ruined over 2,200 houses, burnt out 10.7 million hectares of land and killed 29 people.

Such extreme results have initiated decided action from the real estate sector with the Real Estate Institute of Australia, yesterday, sending out a release of an industry-wide response to assist people affected by the devastation caused by the bushfires.

Victoria, the second hardest-hit area with 300 homes destroyed, the Victorian Government has stepped in to provide businesses, families, and people whose possessions are destroyed or substantially damaged by bushfires will get relief for their 2020 property tax assessment.

Land tax will be also be waived on qualified properties being used to offer free accommodation for men and women that need it.

The Housing Industry Association has also welcomed the Victorian Government’s measures to provide tax relief for those people who were directly affected by the tragic Bushfires sweeping the country.
